Turtle Creek Updates: June 2019

  1. Simplified form procedure: Forms dropped off at the office will be scanned to the system and an encounter routed in the following ways. We are making a streamlined process to ensure that all forms are accounted for and managed in a streamlined fashion
    • Adults: Routed to the resident PCP and preceptor
    • Pediatric patients: Routed to who performed the last well child check (since many children are automatically listed under Dr. Lambore).
    • If another physician would be better able to fill out the form, it is the PCP's or the person who saw the child last for a wcc's responsibility to cc the appropriate person.
    • When forms are filled out, the blank form in the system will be deleted and replaced with a scan of the filled out form to cut down on unneeded uploads
  2. Faxes: Post it notes are falling off and getting lost on paperwork which is confusing when everything is in the bin together. There are now fax cover sheets and paperclips in a tray in the precepting room. If you need something for a patient faxed, place as much information you know on the fax cover sheet and clip everything you want sent together. If you don't know the fax number, or other information, Kim and Rosa can help obtain this so you don't need to look it up
  3. Legal partnership: We are working on incorporating a relationship with Pitt Law students who are learning health law. Stay tuned for more information on how brief advice or referrals can be helpful for our patients (example, helping families navigate IEPs or other educational needs for kids)
    • Referrals: These can be placed in the InfoNet!
